HabitRPG – Be that social butterfly

There are many places to flutter around and converse with other HabitRPG users if only you choose to look.

First of all, there’s the Tavern.

As you can see in the screenshot above, the Tavern isn’t only just a place where all HabitRPG users can chat to each other, it is also a place where you can rest your character (and rest yourself).  Since the user base of HabitRPG has exploded, it’s somewhat hard to keep up with the scrolling wall of text that is the chat room.  This is where guilds come in.

I’m in all sorts of guilds.  There’s no need to just choose one as there are oodles to choose from.  A handy notification system lets you know when someone has posted in a guild’s chat.  It’s a nice place to get to know your fellow HabitRPG users that little bit better and it can even be a place to find new party members.  I use them to chat amongst people, either about subjects I’m interested in or supporting those who are.  If you’re in as many guilds as I am, don’t fall into the trap of wasting time by constantly checking them, especially if you want to be productive (it’s one of my worst habits).

I hope in the future there will be guild challenges where a guild has to band together to complete some big quest or boss battle.  Or at least extent what the guilds currently can do somehow.  Mmm, an epic quest chain sounds like it could be a winner.  Hee hee, that would be awesome.

Yeah, I haven’t been in the tavern for a million billion years. It just rolls by so quickly and ends up being a time sink. I ended up making a reward and charging myself 2 gold for pointless lurking in the tavern and guilds. It doesn’t sound like much but it doesn’t have to be, it’s the psychological knowledge of having it there that works for me. Same with other slacker-rewards, I find that works better than the minus habit for me
